Microsoft and Xbox announced for E3's PC Gaming Show

mercredi 3 juin 2015

A few weeks ago, PC Gamer and a slew of PC gaming giants announced that they'd be partnering up to give the PC gaming platform a dedicated presence at this year's E3. The PC Gaming Show is set to bring together such luminaries as Blizzard, Epic Games, Nvidia, and others. Today, another name has been announced for the show and that's Microsoft... along with the Xbox.

On the surface, it may sound like a head-scratcher that a console manufacturer will be present at something called the "PC Gaming Show." But with Windows 10 set to launch next month, the connection starts to become a little more clear. Spencer will also be discussing more about the Xbox app, as well as DirectX 12.

"For us, the PC Gaming Show is the ideal place to speak directly to PC gamers, and it's a great time to talk about Windows 10 – the best operating system we’ve ever created for gamers on PCs," Xbox head Phil Spencer said via a press release. "With Windows 10, we're bringing the best of Xbox with the best of Windows gaming, including Xbox Live and the new Xbox app, Game DVR for nearly every game, and DirectX 12 for better gaming graphics and performance."

Xbox's presence at the PC Gaming Show will also add some fuel to the rumors that Microsoft will bring Xbox exclusives to PC. Spencer and PC Gaming Show reps confirmed that several Microsoft games will be showcased, meaning they'll either feature some sort of Windows 10 connectivity or they'll be former Xbox exclusives now bound for PC.

The PC Gaming Show is set to take place on Tuesday, June 16 during the evening. For more on the show, as well as the lineup of developers set to attend, be sure to check out the PC Gaming Show page.
