Dreamcast JRPG Grandia II getting remastered release on PC

GungHo has announced it will be releasing Grandia II for Steam and Windows PC due to overwhelming feedback from a GameArts Survey.

Grandia II will improve on the original Dreamcast version as its PC version will be fully remastered and optimized for the platform with updated visuals and having the option of using a keyboard and mouse configuration or a gamepad. Steam achievements and Grandia-themed trading cards will also be included.

"With the rise of digital downloads, it is especially important that classic games continue to remain available to play in some form," said Jun Iwasaki, president of GungHo Online Entertainment America. "Grandia II was chosen for a PC re-release because it represents both a hallmark of the Grandia series and an example of how great JRPGs can be."

Grandia II was one of the crown jewels of the SEGA Dreamcast as its story, atmosphere, and combat system all came together to offer a unique JRPG experience. A number of Dreamcast games have received remasters over the years, but we can’t help but be a little more excited to experience Grandia II all over again on PC.
