Halo 3: ODST Master Chief Collection May 29 release date was a placeholder

mercredi 27 mai 2015

Halo: The Master Chief Collection was expected to get Halo 3: ODST this month, but it appears 343 Industries is, once again, not living up to its promises. The studio took to Twitter to reveal they’re in the final testing stage for ODST’s campaign to be added to The Master Chief Collection and will make an official announcement once its release date is determined.

This announcement was made shortly after a listing for Halo 3: ODST was discovered saying it would be releasing on May 29. According to 343, that was a “placeholder release date” and was “inadvertently listed” on the Xbox Store. The studio still has a few days left in May to live up to their promise of ODST releasing on time, although considering its track record with The Master Chief Collection, we think an official delay announcement is imminent.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection had an extremely rocky launch as it was hit with matchmaking problems shortly after its release, which was patched, then patched, then patched, then patched, then… well -- you get the idea. The latest patch offered some major tweaks to all four included games as well as the promise of ODST launching in May, although that seems highly unlikely at this point.
