CD Projekt RED has announced The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has exceeded one million pre-orders worldwide.

“We’ve crossed the 1 million pre-order milestone and it’s all thanks to you guys! We would like to thank all the gamers for their trust and support,” CD PROJEKT RED co-founder Marcin Iwinski tells Shacknews. “This is the last stretch and we’re pushing hard -- over the last two weeks, we’ve increased performance on all platforms and started working full speed on the expansions, Hearts of Stone & Blood and Wine.”

In addition to the two expansions, CD Projekt RED has also promised to deliver sixteen free pieces of downloadable content that will be available for all who own The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The free pieces of DLC will start being released in pairs on a weekly basis, starting from May 20th.

The hype surrounding The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt appears to be rightfully deserved as everything we’ve read on the title, and seen in its trailers, look downright impressive. We can’t help but be as excited as everyone else is about The Witcher 3, and after learning about its over one million pre-orders, we have a feeling everyone is really excited.
