Team Meat has announced Super Meat Boy will be terrorizing PlayStation platforms later this year.
Super Meat Boy will be available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita some time later this year and will be made available for free for PlayStation Plus members at its launch.
A post on the PlayStation Blog revealed Team Meat was always interested in releasing Super Meat Boy onto PlayStation platforms, but were unable to due to “very complicated reasons.” Now that the studio is able to, they’re leaving last-gen behind and only releasing a PS4 and Vita version of the game.
Super Meat Boy released back in 2010 on the Xbox 360 and PC, making its PlayStation debut a very long time coming. If we had to guess what the “very complicated reasons” were, we have a feeling it had to due with having a timed-exclusivity agreement with Microsoft. Regardless of what the reason is, after five years, PlayStation owners will finally be able to get their hands on this brutal platformer. Trust us when we say it’ll be worth the wait, although you may regret picking it up after attempting to play a few levels.
