Codemasters has announced a new title within its DiRT franchise has launched on Steam Early Access, called DiRT Rally.
DiRT Rally’s initial launch will feature 17 classic and current cars drivers can race across 36 stages spread across three different real-world environments: Hafren, Wales; Monte Carlo, Monaco; Argolis, Greece. Codemasters plans on adding regular free updates to DiRT Rally, which includes additional vehicles, locations, and game modes.
Codemasters has completely rebuilt both the physical simulation and driving models in DiRT Rally to hopefully capture the feeling of each individual car as it maneuvers across a variety of surfaces and driving conditions.
The developer has also gone a completely new route by offering DiRT Rally on Steam Early Access to allow fans of the series to help shape the game into something they’d want to spend long hours with. Those who purchase the Early Access version will be able to hire up to four engineering staff to work on your vehicles between races, take part in daily, weekly, and month-long challenges against other players, upgrade vehicles to unlock its full potential, and witness comprehensive and realistic damage models.
DiRT Rally is now available on Steam Early Access for $34.99. No word on whether DiRT Rally will make its way to consoles once it completes its Early Access time.
