Now that the Apple Watch is available for purchase, a number of developers are flocking to the wearable to allow wearers to kill time by playing games on their smartwatch. We already learned about Everywhere Games’ Runeblade, and today, Wayforward has announced its own adventure RPG called Watch Quest.
Watch Quest allows players to guide their hero through several quests throughout the day. Heroes can slay monsters and find treasure with both active and passive play. Players will first choose their hero on their iPhone, which they can then guide them on their adventure from the Apple Watch. The way passive play works is through selecting longer, easier quests and preparing their hero for the upcoming journey prior to letting them loose.
Watch Quest will launch on April 24 as a free-to-play game with in-app purchases for additional characters and adventure campaigns.
Wayforward has developed a number of great titles, including DuckTales: Remastered, BloodRayne: Betrayal, and Double Dragon: Neon and we certainly look forward to see just what kind of experience Watch Quest can offer.
