PlayStation announced its Internet-based TV service, PlayStation Vue, back in late 2014 and promising it would launch commercially in early 2015. Today, Sony has stayed true to its promise and has launched PlayStation Vue in Chicago, New York City, and Philadelphia.

PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 owners will be able to access PlayStation Vue within those regions. Vue allows its users to view both live television and on-demand content at any time, while also offering a cloud-based DVR that can save your favorite shows for up to 28 days.

PlayStation Vue also offers a powerful discovery tool that helps viewers filter through thousands of shows in just moments, allowing them to find what they’re looking for much more quickly. Best of all, your favorite shows and channels will always be front and center when launching PlayStation Vue.

In regards to expansion, Sony says they’re working hard to deliver PlayStation Vue to more cities as well as offering the service on the iPad in the near future. So if you don’t live in NYC, Chi-Town, or Philly, then consider this a first step to Vue being made available in your region.
